Roadworthy Jobs · add-on

Deliveries and collections, in the same place as your compliance.

Book a job once and drag it onto a driver. Before it goes, Roadworthy checks the driver and the lorry. The driver works it from the cab card they already use, every drop comes back with proof, and the day is planned by road for that lorry.

Checked before it goes

The driver and the lorry, checked at allocation and again at Start.

Give a job to a driver and Roadworthy reads their licence, CPC and tacho card dates, the vehicle’s MOT, tax and open defects, and whether today’s walkaround has been done. Each check warns you; you choose which ones block.

  • A driver who has left, or a lorry taken off road, can never be given work
  • A failed check that goes ahead anyway needs a written reason, kept in the audit log
  • The day’s driving, roughly, against what the driver’s card says they have left (with Fleet Analysis)
  • The job is sent to the driver’s phone when you say, not before
The fleet plan: the day's waiting drops spread across drivers, each with miles, driving time, finish and the order

Planned by road

The best order the roads allow, for that lorry.

Optimise a driver’s day, or plan the drops nobody has yet across the drivers who are out. The planning runs on road data held on our own server, costed for the lorry’s height, length and weight, so a 4.2 m trailer is not sent under a 3.9 m bridge.

  • Booked windows kept, a collection before its delivery, the 45-minute break fitted
  • Before and after: miles, driving, finish, and anything that would be late
  • Planned arrival times on the driver’s phone and on the customer’s page
  • Drag a drop by hand and the day is worked out again by road, straight away

There is no live traffic. Every time shown is an estimate from the road network, and the screens say so. Drivers navigate with their own sat-nav.

Proved when it’s done

Start, Arrived, photos, signature. Time and place on every one.

The driver opens My jobs from the cab card. Each drop shows the address, the window, the site’s instructions and the planned time. Start, Arrived and Delivered are one tap each; the proof is a signature and photos, stamped with the time and the place.

  • Proof of delivery as a PDF the customer can verify from a code
  • A problem reported mid-shift goes to the office at once, with photos
  • Messages between the driver and the office stay with the job
  • No signal: taps are kept on the phone and sent when it is back
What the customer sees

A tracking link that tells them when, never where.

Send the customer a link. It shows the booked window, the planned time before the driver sets off, then the road time for that lorry once they are on their way, and the proof when it is done. They can leave the driver a note: a gate code, which door. The lorry’s position is never shown.

  • On its way and Delivered emails, if you switch them on
  • Planned and road times in five-minute steps, marked as estimates
  • The proof of delivery, with the signature and the photos, from the same link

What it does

From booking to invoice, with the compliance in the same record.

Booking

Customers, their sites and contacts, with windows, pallets, weights and any requirements such as a tail lift or ADR. Import a spreadsheet of customers; repeat a job; book a collection and delivery as one.

Giving out the work

Drag a job onto a driver. The pre-start checks run as you pick; the day board shows each driver’s drops, load and planned day. Subcontractors get their own link and send proof the same way.

The driver’s day

My jobs on the cab card: accept the work, start the shift, run the drops in order with Navigate to their own sat-nav, and a driving mode that shows just the next drop while the lorry is moving.

Proof and problems

Proof of delivery with signature, photos, time and place, verifiable by code. Problems reported with photos go straight to Needs action on the office’s day board.

Live view and trackers

Where every driver on shift was last seen, with the planned road drawn beside the lorry. Trackers and cameras send in or are fetched; camera events are listed for the office to note what was done.

Invoicing and reports

Finished work listed to invoice, with a spreadsheet for your accounts package, run sheets and PODs as PDFs, and reports on how the work went.

Said now

What it doesn’t do.

Jobs plans and proves; it does not drive the lorry.

  • No live traffic. Times are estimates from the road network, and every screen that shows one says so.
  • No turn-by-turn directions. Navigate hands the drop to the driver’s own sat-nav, and heights and weights on the day are the driver’s call.
  • The road planning covers Great Britain and Ireland.
  • It plans for the sizes you record. Leave a lorry’s height blank and it is planned as a typical one of its kind, and the plan tells you so.

Questions

Is Jobs part of Roadworthy?

It is an add-on, switched on for your operator when you ask. It uses the drivers and vehicles already on your Roadworthy record and never writes to them: a driver who has left, or a lorry off road, cannot be given work.

Do drivers need another app?

No. Jobs lives on the same cab card they scan for the walkaround. My jobs opens from the home screen, signed in with their own PIN. It works with no signal and sends what it saved when the phone is back on.

Where does the road planning come from?

From road data on our own server (OpenStreetMap, for Great Britain and Ireland). Addresses never leave the server, and there is no live traffic: every time shown is an estimate from the road network, and the screens say so.

Can my customers see where the lorry is?

No. The tracking link shows the booked window, the planned time, how far away the driver is and roughly how long, and the proof once it is delivered. Never the vehicle’s position.

Does it work with our trackers and cameras?

Yes, where they can send or be fetched. Trackers that post positions (Traccar and the devices it reads, SmartWitness, Lytx, flespi and others) have a ready-made address; Webfleet, Samsara and Teletrac Navman are fetched on your behalf. Camera events arrive with the clip and are listed for the office to look at and note what was done.
